In 1980, the FBI followed the activities on various KISS concerts to assess the effects on American youth. The FBI requested inquiries on civil unrests, police attackes and other incidents like protests from religious groups accompanying KISS concerts (26 pages).

    Official press info from Phonogram Germany dated August 1980. An official statement about misinterpretations of the KISS logo for the Nazi "SS" logo, saying that the group has nothing to do with politics at all. Nevertheless, the new censored logo for the German market is presented in this document for the first time... ("although it was a hard step for the band"). Language is German! Signed by the board of directors from Phonogram, KISS' German label at the time.
